Why I teach at CPLS: God led me to CPLS after almost a year of prayer and seeking my next opportunity to serve Him after working in the nonprofit sector for eight years. As a child, I wanted to be a teacher and was going to be an English professor before God called me to serve at a nonprofit. I feel like God used that “detour” to give me a heart for discipling children in the Gospel of Jesus. I love CPLS’ emphasis on wonder and discovery in education and how we openly talk about God as we’re learning. It has been a true blessing to be at CPLS so far!

Testimony: I made a profession of faith as a young child, but I don’t think I really understood what it meant to have a relationship with Jesus until I was much older. I would say the overarching theme of my life has been God’s goodness and faithfulness. During despite periods of doubts, mental health struggles, and suffering, God has used all of that to reveal Himself to me and make me more like Him. God continues to use all things, even the mundane, to draw me closer to Him and grow in friendship with Him.
