Why I Teach at CPLS: After more than ten years practicing law, God very clearly directed me into teaching high school mathematics and history. While I love teaching, He also invested me with gifts, talents, skills, experiences, and training that have prepared me well to be an educational leader. Classical Christian education is not just an interest for me; rather it is a passion of mine and is part of who I am at my core. At CPLS I see the staff and faculty truly striving to form what our children love through their joyful discovery of the true, the good, and the beautiful. In CPLS I have found a place where I can be a part of that process as a leader, as a teacher, and as a lifelong learner and “joyful discoverer” myself.

Personal Testimony: I grew up in a Christian home with parents who sacrificed to send me to a Christian school K-12. My father led me to the Lord at the age of about five, and when I moved into junior high and high school, Christianity became a part of who I was, rather than just our family’s religion. In college, God led me to serve Him in the practice of law. A few years later, I met my wife while I was on vacation in Australia. She moved to the Pacific Northwest when we married, and our two children were born there. Several years later, God sent us to live in Australia for several years, where He led me into teaching and eventually into educational leadership. When we returned to the US, He introduced me to classical Christian education, which has become my passion. We continue to trust Him on a daily basis for everything that we need, as we strive to glorify and enjoy Him.
