Why I Teach at CPLS: I taught in public education for 16 years prior to my 5-year hiatus after we moved to Topeka in 2019. During my time away from the classroom, I was able to step back and really examine what I wanted in a school for my daughters. Covid exposed a multitude of underlying and growing issues in society and made me aware of how much I desired to shelter and nourish my children’s education, while simultaneously providing them the necessary tools to thrive in this world. The beginning of 2023 my husband and I resolved to find a better educational solution for our daughters. We toured and fell in love with Cair Paravel. Its classical and biblical focus were an immediate draw and I absolutely loved the integration of C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia. Simply put, it was a much-needed breath of fresh air and an answer to our prayers. The fall of 2025, our youngest entered kindergarten and I knew it was time for me to re-enter the classroom – this time at a school where I could openly speak biblical truth and share my love for Jesus.

My Personal Testimony: Having grown up in a house of believers, I’ve known the name of Jesus Christ my entire life. Whereas my walk with Jesus is not new, my relationship with Him evolves constantly. We are called to be like Christ – to love, to speak truth, and to follow his example. To put it simply, this is how I strive to live.
