Why I teach at CPLS: After several years of teaching in public schools, I wanted to do more than just teach. I wanted to shepherd young hearts, to guide children to be laborers for God’s kingdom, and to use my gifts of teaching to be a light in the lives of my students and their families. CPLS has not only afforded me with the opportunity to do that, it has also blessed me with amazing coworkers and a positive, encouraging and loving learning environment where Christ’s love is abundant and apparent in everything we do.

Personal testimony: I grew up in a Christian family and accepted Jesus as my savior at a young age. After sharing my decision, I was met with questions and disbelief by my well-meaning grandmother, who thought I was too young to know and understand the true meaning of my decision. It wasn’t until high school that I overcame the impact of the confusion and doubt I felt from my grandmother’s reaction and I was finally baptized in 9th grade. My grandmother went to heaven never knowing how deeply she affected my spiritual walk. I do however use my experience to make sure my young students know that no one is too small, too young, too old, or too anything to accept the gift of salvation! But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God” (Luke 18:16).
