Why I teach at CPLS: God sent me here to Topeka as an answer to prayer after many years of pouring out my desire to live near my daughter and her family. Once relocation was in the works, I applied to CPLS for the interventionist. Although that position was already hired, my experience in Special Education with high schoolers during my teaching tenure prompted a new job to be created for academic Interventionist for Logic and Rhetoric. Last year I was hired part time and this year I am teaching Logic School History and Literature. It has been a true blessing to me to be a part of this Classical Christian Education program after serving over 12 years in public school. God’s timing is perfect, and has stretched me in my faith and service.

Personal Testimony: As a child, my mom always made sure we attended a church wherever my father’s job took us. When I was ten years old, my parents divorced, and we moved to Chicago to live with my grandmother. Wonderful neighbors invited us to worship at church with them. When I was 13, through the love and support of that family and the church family, I accepted Jesus into my heart as my Savior and was baptized. Growth and consequences were inevitable throughout the maturing process, but I have always valued my faith and relationship with Christ. My husband and I have raised our three children in a Christian home and have kept Christ at the center of our marriage and family. Today, we do the same with our grandchildren.
