In a busy world where time is a precious resource, I am struck by the volunteers who choose to spend hours helping at our school. As I write this, there are a dozen adults in the gym helping children select and wrap presents at the PTF Christmas Store. You can walk through the halls on any given day and see parents (and grandparents) listening to memory verse recitations, helping in the classroom, opening milk cartons in the cafeteria, making copies and answering phones in the office, delivering treats to the teacher’s breakroom, shelving books in the library, pulling weeds in our flowerbeds, dropping off snack bags for our student athletes, and so much more. These efforts help lower the school’s operating expenses which, in turn, helps keep our tuition as affordable as possible for families.

What makes the volunteer efforts at our school so special is the heart behind the work. CPLS doesn’t require parents to work a predetermined number of volunteer hours. Instead, we have been blessed with a spirit of community where parents choose to contribute as they are able. A volunteer at the Christmas store told me how much she enjoys being on campus, “I just love being in the building, having relationships with the teachers and staff, and working alongside other parents here. It makes me happy!”

It’s almost magical when every action, no matter how small, is carried out with a spirit of generosity and a desire to serve others in the name of Christ. This selflessness mirrors the model of servanthood that Jesus exemplified and serves as a powerful example to our students. Each act of service strengthens the bond of our community and reminds us of the beauty of living out our faith.

To all our volunteers, THANK YOU! Your work often goes unseen, but its impact is profound and lasting. Through your service, you demonstrate God’s love, foster fellowship, and help our school community flourish.
